Terms of use
In short
- Checkme is free to play, with no account.
- It comes as it is: we work to keep it running, but we can't promise it always will.
- Play fair: don't attack, overload or misuse the service.
- Your assistant's moves and words come from Claude or ChatGPT, under Anthropic's or OpenAI's terms.
1. Who we are
Checkme is run by Dreamdaze Venture Studio LLC. In these terms, “we” means Dreamdaze Venture Studio LLC. The terms apply when you use the Checkme website at talkcheckto.me, or play through its game server at dzchess.app, for example by adding Checkme to Claude or ChatGPT. By using Checkme, you agree to them. Our privacy policy says what we keep, and for how long.
2. The service
Checkme puts a chessboard in your conversation with Claude or ChatGPT. It is free, needs no account and shows no ads. Each game is kept for a day after its last move, then deleted.
We may change Checkme, pause it or stop it at any time, for example to fix a problem or to improve it. If we stop it for good, we'll say so on this site.
3. Playing fair
Use Checkme to play chess. Please don't:
- attack the service, try to break into it, or get around its limits;
- overload it, for example with automated requests far beyond play;
- use the message box to send anything unlawful, or anything that harms others;
- suggest that we endorse something we don't.
We may block traffic that harms the service or the people playing on it.
4. Your assistant
Checkme runs inside Claude or ChatGPT. When you play against the assistant, its moves, comments and answers come from Anthropic's or OpenAI's models, not from us, and your use of the assistant is covered by their terms. An assistant can be wrong about chess: take its explanations as a friend's view, not as expert advice.
5. What's ours, and what isn't
The Checkme name, its mark and this website are ours. Checkme also uses other people's work under open licences, such as the Stockfish chess engine and the chess pieces; the credits page lists them with their licences. Checkme is an independent project, not made or endorsed by Anthropic or OpenAI. Claude is a trademark of Anthropic; ChatGPT is a trademark of OpenAI.
6. No warranty
Checkme is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises about it, including that it will be available, free of errors, or fit for a particular purpose.
7. Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from Checkme, and our total liability for any claim about it is limited to US$50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
8. Changes
If these terms change, we'll update the date at the top, and for a large change we'll say so on the home page. Using Checkme after a change means you accept the new terms.
9. The law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its rules on conflicts of law. Any dispute about them goes to the state or federal courts in New York, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it where you live.
